This is my "Iris" tryptique, each piece is 102 x 26cm. Fabric/paper, acrylic paints, gilding, kunin felt and sheer fabrics, machine stitched with metallic threads and cut out with soldering iron.
I have been enthusiastically teaching Textile Art/Embroidery for the last 15 years and also City and Guilds of London Certificate, to Diploma Level. I have a wide interest in fabric and thread colouration and experimental techniques involving machine- and hand-stitch. As a Founder Member and Former Chair of the Wirral Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild, I have been providing encouragement to students of all ages and at all levels of experience.
. . . and yes, I am indulging myself in my hobby and there's nothing wrong in that, I have managed to acquire a "faithful following", so I must be doing something right.
